Sunday, Feb 11, 2018. Day 18 of our snowbird vacation.
Ang & I went to 11:00 AM mass at St Andrew's Catholic Church at St Andrew's - the place was packed - lots of Yankees. They also have two evening masses in Spanish. It's quite a vibrant church.
After church we went to K&W (one of two remaining open) - this one at 2001 S Kings Hwy.
Since we were so far down on the southern end of Myrtle Beach, we decided to drive down to Georgetown to find the Tom Yawkey Wildlife Center, which we're going to visit on Thursday.
You need to take a boat to get over to Tom Yawkey. We looked at the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway that you have to cross to get to the island. The current was fast - we watched this lone pelican riding the current. The channel is narrow at this point, but deep - North Atlantic Right Whales and Dolphins are often spotted in the channel (just not today!).
We drove to downtown Georgetown which was quiet on a Sunday afternoon. We did find an ice cream shop open though,
We went back to our hotel and I made Ang a light dinner. We watched a movie and of course some of the winter Olympics.
The weather has turned warmer but were hoping for some sunshine in the coming week.
